Mountain River Venison was showcased at GranChef On Tour, held on 30 September 2025 at the iconic Autodromo Nazionale di Monza - home of the Italian Grand Prix.


The event brought together around 300 restaurants from across northern Italy, creating a lively and friendly atmosphere filled with chefs, branch managers, and their teams - along with plenty of family and food lovers. It was a day of great flavours, connections, and celebration of premium ingredients.


Gustaf Kugelberg, Mikael Granberg, and Shannon Campbell represented Mountain River Venison alongside our Italian distribution partner GranChef Premium Food, sharing tastings and updates with chefs who already feature our venison on their menus - and introducing many new restaurants to the quality of New Zealand venison.


As Gustaf noted,


“It was really a great event with some 300 restaurants visiting - it was packed with people. Some were already using our meat and were very pleased. The feeling is that our work is slowly starting to pay off.”

The feedback from branch managers and chefs was highly positive, with growing recognition of New Zealand venison as a perfect match for Italy’s premium dining scene - lean, tender, and naturally full of flavour.


Events like GranChef On Tour continue to build momentum and relationships that strengthen Mountain River Venison’s position in one of Europe’s most discerning food markets.
