On Sunday, September 17th, Angus from Terra Pacific traveled to Orlando, Florida, to present Mountain River Venison at Southeastern USA distributor partner Halperns' Steak & Seafood Show. The event was held at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate – a large property in an area well known for Florida's most famous tourist attraction – Disneyworld!
Over 100 of Halperns' vendors were invited to promote an extensive selection of their meat, seafood, and specialty item offerings to around 2,000 show guest attendees, made up of chefs, hoteliers, independent restaurant owners, cruise lines, and ship chandlers.
On Sunday evening, Halperns hosted a cocktail reception and dinner for their vendor partners to thank them for their support and to provide an overview of the year's business and a forward outlook. Sales in the Southeastern USA have been strong, and they are upbeat about the growth prospects of the Hotel and restaurant industry over the next 12 months.
They see their large, growing, skilled sales force and the quality of their premium proteins portfolio & vendor base as driving the success of their business. Terra Pacific was honored to be recognized during the evening speeches as the very first vendor that the company brought on board when it was established in 2005.
We were thanked for our dedication to the quality of products and service over 18 years... it was a nice acknowledgement!
The grand showcase was held from 11:00am – to 4:00pm in a ballroom at the resort. Attendees were primarily buyers or those with decision-making capacity within their organization, and a steady flow of visitors to the booths kept purveyors busy all day! We displayed a beautiful selection of our 'chef-ready' Mountain River Venison cuts and specifically highlighted the versatility and mild tenderness of the Leg cut range. Once again, we gave the guests a taste of our very own Chef Graham Browns' (now world-famous), 'Red berry tea brined & applewood cold smoked' Venison loin. More than once over the course of the afternoon, it was described as 'the best bite at the show'!
The event was perfectly timed to coincide with Fall menu changes, which always presents an opportunity for Venison menu placement. It also provided an invaluable opportunity to connect with the all-important sales team to ensure they have the tools and knowledge they need to promote Venison to their customers.
It is a first-class show, and we will be back next year!
