High Peak Station, Canterbury, South Island, New Zealand
High Peak Station has been a pioneer in New Zealand deer farming since 1977, when James Guild captured the station’s first stag, Horace. Today, led by Hamish Guild, the family continues to champion sustainable, diversified farming across 3,800 hectares. The station produces premium venison, four tonnes of velvet, and over 1,000 weaners each year, while also supporting game estate hunting and honey production. As National Ambassadors for Sustainable Farming, the Guild family blends tradition, innovation, and environmental stewardship to ensure High Peak remains resilient for generations to come.

Hamish and Simon Guild of High Peak Station were named 2024 National Ambassadors for Sustainable Farming and recipients of the Gordon Stephenson Trophy, having received the award after winning the Nationals Ballance Farm Environment Award.
The honour recognises their leadership, innovation, and long-term commitment to sustainability across deer, velvet, tourism, and honey enterprises.
