We’re excited to be packing the first crop of the season and shipping them out within the next few days!
On Thursday the first deer were brought in from Northbank Station and we were very pleased with the results. Fed through the winter on fodder beet grown on the farm and finished on grass, the 123 nine-month-old deer weighed in at an average 57.5kgs. A stunning result for the farm; well done to Adam and his team.
Bound for the USA and Switzerland in the next few days (just in time for the “game season” in Switzerland), with other cuts making their way to Japan, Sweden and other markets early in September.
As the northern hemisphere heads into autumn, it’s important that these first cuts are on the menu at the start of the season. This crop was one to be proud of and I’m sure will serve as a stellar example of great Mountain River Venison - we look forward to hearing the feedback.
